Switch n' Play (SNP) is a Brooklyn drag collective established
in 2006. Queer in every sense of the word, SNP spans the gender
spectrum in life and on stage. We currently produce drag and
burlesque shows twice a month at
in Prospect Heights, in addition to mounting large-scale productions at National Sawdust in Williamsburg. We were the winners of "Best Burlesque Show" at the Brooklyn Nightlife Awards in 2017, 2018, and 2019, and we have also been recognized in the "Best Drag Show" and
"Hall of Fame" categories.
We are the subject of a 2019 feature documentary film, "A Night at Switch n' Play," directed by Cody Stickles and produced by Chelsea Moore. The film's world premiere took place on June 1st at the Inside-Out Festival in Toronto, Canada.
You can find us at Branded Saloon every second and fourth Saturday, where we joined by our rotating special guests — some of the best burlesque and drag performers in NYC. Check our schedule to catch the next show!
Since its inception ten years ago, SNP has also been committed to fostering drag and queer community in Brooklyn by creating safe space for drag, burlesque and other gender-based performance by people of all levels of experience. SNP's Open Drag Nights have united amateur and experienced performers on the same stage since 2006. In 2016, Open Drag returns as "Moxie: a Night of Invigorating Drag & Burlesque" at Branded Saloon! Contact us if you are a new performer, looking for your chance to join our next Moxie cast. In the past, these shows have raised funds for organizations like the Audre Lorde Project and the Queer Detainee Empowerment Project.
